How To Book Your Spring Tire Changeover And What To Know

It's time to change over your winter tires, so how do you get booked in?

When the snow begins to melt, it’s time to change over your winter tires to a set of tires appropriate for the warmer weather. Integra Tire recommends installing your all-season tires once the temperature is regularly 7 degrees Celsius or higher. At this temperature, the rubber compound on your winter tires will begin to prematurely wear and be less effective.

Inspect Your Tires Before Bringing Them In

Before scheduling your appointment, it’s important to know if the tires we will be mounting are in adequate shape for another season of driving. Note that your local Integra Tire will inspect your tires before mounting them; however, it will save you time if you can catch any problems before booking your appointment. If your tires are stored with your local Integra Tire, they will be inspected before and after they have been stored.

Closely inspect the tread of your tires and measure your tread depth. If your tread depth is any less than 2/32″, they will not be suitable for mounting on your vehicle. If your tires are near 4/32″, you may also want to considering replacing your tires early as you’ll likely need a new set in the coming months, and it may not be worth waiting to mount a new set in less than a few months.

Aside from the tread depth, look for other signs of compromise on each tire; this can include punctures, gashes, and irregular wear.
