How to Make a Winter Emergency Kit

Whenever you are travelling long distances or in any rural areas, you should always pack an emergency winter travel kit.
One of the most important items to always have in your vehicle is a spare tire and car jack in case you get a flat tire. Another item to include in your winter emergency kit is a shovel. This will help you if you get stuck in the snow. You can also buy metal grippers to put under your tire in case you get stuck.
You should also make sure to pack extra warm clothes like thermal underwear, extra socks, gloves, scarfs, and a toque. It can also help to have an extra couple of blankets in your car.
Remember to pack food and water with you too. If you do get stranded for a long period of time, you’ll want to stay nourished and hydrated.
Also make sure to always carry a windshield scraper in your vehicle and it never hurts to carry extra windshield washer fluid in case you run out.
