Vehicle Inspections In Whitehorse

About Vehicle Inspections

Many of the more expensive repairs you face with your vehicle will be the result of relatively small issues snowballing into larger ones. For this reason, we recommend having your vehicle inspected regularly to look out for anything troubling. Typically during an inspection, your technician will take a look at the components on your vehicle for signs of wear and tear and mark them as "good," "replacement needed soon," or "replacement needed immediately." There are many different types of inspections of varying depth and purpose.

Courtesy Check

Depending on the time of year, your Integra Tire may provide a complimentary checkup on areas common for wear and tear during your regular service (oil change/tire changeovers). These areas can include brakes, tie rods, lights, wipers, engine oil, fluids, and more. Although these checkups can catch any obvious signs of failure, they are not as in-depth as full inspections. When you come in for an appointment, your Integra Tire service advisor will let you know if a checkup will be performed.

40-Point Inspections

Ask us today about getting a 40-point inspection. 40-point inspections are much more in-depth than courtesy checks - the specific areas checked may differ slightly in-store but typically these include:

  • General auto - wipers, fluids, horn, mirrors
  • Lighting - dash indicators, headlights, parking lights, turn signals, etc.
  • Lubricants and fluids - oil, transmission fluid, power steering, antifreeze, brake fluid, hoses
  • Battery - holder, cables, charge, fluid leaks, exhaust, driveline
  • Belts, pulleys, hoses, alternator, air conditioning, power steering, water pump
  • Air filters, PCV, air ducts
  • Tire tread and pressure

Insurance Inspections

Integra Tire Whitehorse provides licensed insurance inspections. Many insurance companies require inspections by a licensed facility to insure vehicles older than 1o-12 years. The insurance inspection is used to determine the vehicle's road-worthiness and focuses on areas of lighting, suspension, brake operation, exhaust condition, and much more. This report helps your insurance company assess the risk involved in insuring the vehicle. Although it's not always the case that an older vehicle needs an inspection, it is always safe to assume it will. Contact your insurance broker to confirm.
